Volksbank Kaiserslautern-Nordwestpfalz introduces secure e-mail
Huefingen, 30th of March 2010 – With Volksbank Kaiserslautern-Nordwestpfalz eG, regify AG have gained a new financial services customer for their regify® secure e-mail service. The Volksbank, with central offices in Kaiserslautern, will use regify trusted and binding e-mail to securely communicate both with its corporate and private customers as well as internally. Says Karl-Heinz Reidenbach, Co-CEO of Volksbank Kaiserslautern-Nordwestpfalz. "Back in 2008, we were already rated the bank with the most satisfied customers when compared to the eight other banks in Kaiserslautern. With regify®, we give additional value to our customers and an incentive to work together even closer“. Reidenbach states that his customers can, with immediate effect, send and receive sensitive documents even from their home computers without the fear that unauthorized third parties could get access to confidential information. Internal communication will also be facilitated with the secure and convenient regify solution which, importantly for the bank, does not involve changes to any existing IT infrastructure.
All customers and employees of the Volksbank need to do is register with a regify® provider listed on the regify website at www.regify.com. Users can read and send regify® e-mails with their regular e-mail program, their BlackBerry or alternatively, via the web portal of their provider. When a user sends a regify e-mail the message text and any attachments are automatically encrypted. The encryption key is sent to the regify clearing service, the encrypted message is sent via ordinary e-mail. Once the authorized addressee opens the e-mail, the encryption key is provided automatically. The sender receives a confirmation of receipt which proves that the addressee received and opened the message. Users are not involved in any additional steps as the security mechanisms are automatically processed in the background. An online transaction history gives immediate access to any transactional information, past and pending alike. regify is provided using a SaaS (Software as a Service) model. Charges are per user per month at a flat rate fee of between 2 to 4 EURO per month depending on the regify provider.
